Clean & Seal

CLEANING & SEALING: is essential to protecting and enhancing your decorative concrete surfaces. Sealer does not allow moisture to fester in the pores of the concrete and greatly reduces mold and mildew. Our sealer is available in over 30 colors plus clear.

CLEANING PROCEDURE:
Mix 1 part chlorine to 2 parts water and apply to your surface using either a watering can or, if available, a chlorine injector which attaches to the pressure cleaning machine.

Allow the chlorine to soak for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Then, pressure wash the area with clean water, making sure to thoroughly rinse the area.

Allow your surface to dry completely, two to three days is recommended.

APPLICATION:

If the surface has never been sealed before, we recommend using a Solvent based sealer. For a driveway, Solvent based sealer is always recommended. On a pool deck, patio, or any surface where there is no vehicular traffic, you can use either Solvent or Water based sealer.

On a previously sealed surface, you must first determine if the existing sealer is Solvent or Water based. Although not recommended, you can put a Water based sealer on top of a Solvent based sealer but you can NOT put a Solvent based sealer on top of a Water based sealer. You can test to determine what type of sealer is existing.

To test, use a dime sized amount of goof off or xylene (for clear sealer, try an area where you can still see some sealer, usually close to the wall of the house where there tends to be more shade) and rub it in a circle. The goof off or xylene will start to dry in about 10 seconds, tap the area with your finger and if you feel it being sticky or tacky then you know it's Solvent based, if it doesn't do anything then it's Water based. Try a few different spots just to be sure.
